WELCOME TO THE WEBSITE OF
PLANO NORTH METROPLEX (TX) CHAPTER,
THE LINKS, INCORPORATED
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the website for The Plano North Metroplex (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. Plano North Metroplex (TX) Chapter was chartered on April 1, 1989. With over 35 years in the Collin County area, the Plano Links have strengthened the link of friendship established by our founders, Margaret Rosell Hawkins and Sarah Strickland Scott.
The Links, Incorporated is an international, non-profit corporation, established in 1946. The membership consists of more than 17,000 professional women of color in 299 chapters located in 41 states, the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. It is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women who are committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African descent.
Our members are business and civic leaders, role models, mentors, and activists who work toward a common vision by engaging like-minded organizations and individuals for collaboration and partnership. Since its inception in 1989, the Plano North Metroplex (TX) Chapter, The Links, Incorporated has supported the community through volunteerism and donations to various organizations throughout its service area, which includes the cities of Lewisville, Flower Mound, Allen, Plano, Carrollton, Addison, Farmers Branch, Richardson, Garland, and the North Dallas area, generally. Counties included in our service area are Collin, Denton, Dallas, and Rockwall Counties.
The Plano North Metroplex (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated annual Signature fundraiser Day at the Races: Le Chapeau Affaire supports the community outreach programs of the Plano North Metroplex (TX) Chapter, Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County Plano-Douglass Branch (Youth & Teen Center), Evolution Academy Charter School, our target mentoring group S.W.A.G. (Securing Wisdom and Grace), and our NSBE Jr. Chapter.
We eagerly look forward to working within our target area to bring about positive change, along with a better quality of life to those we serve.
