WELCOME!
The Plano North Metroplex (TX) Chapter of the Links Incorporated welcomes you to our website. Our chapter was chartered in 1989 and we have proudly and consistently served the community for over thirty years.
Here are a few facts about organization:
The Links Incorporated, is one of the oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of women in the United States and was founded in 1946 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by a group of committed women. Their goal and purpose was to enrich, sustain, and ensure the culture and economic survival of African Americans and persons of African ancestry. Today there are over 16,000 professional women in 288 chapters, with locations in 41 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and the United Kingdom.
As you look at our website, you will see the many ways we serve and support those within our community. Our chapter’s programming is focused in five facets: Services to Youth, National Trends and Services, The Arts, International Trends and Services, and Health and Human Services. We utilize strategies such as public information and education, economic development, and public policy campaigns to implement our work.
Our community partnerships and the corporations and individuals who support our programs and services through our signature fundraiser, Day at the Races, are proudly listed. We would not be able to do the important work in our community without them.
We are a group of dedicated and committed women actively working in our community.
We are "United in Friendship, Empowered to Serve!"
Regards,
Paula R. Parker
