Health and Human Services
Health and Human Services is a program included under the five targeted facets of The Links, incorporated. The goal of Health and Human Services is to promote and facilitate programs that support the maintenance of good health and the elimination of chronic health disparities in communities of color through education, health advocacy, and optimal utilization of health resources and community education. The PNMC actively collaborates and coordinates community events with our targeted audiences of young ladies ages 12 – 16 and women. There are eight programs that fall under Health and Human Services with national and local focus throughout the year.

Over the years, the PNMC of the Links focused efforts have been on two of our Signature Programs and have truly enhanced the knowledge of our community in our efforts to close the gap of health disparities and life giving opportunities in communities of color. These key Signature Programs include :
-
HeartLinks to Heart Health – Red Dress Luncheon
-
Linkage to Life: Organ, Tissue and Bone Marrow Donation Awareness – Donor Sabbath
In addition to our Signature programs The PNMC activity partners in coordinated cluster events such as the Healthy Harvest Fun Walk/5k Run which is focused on fighting chronic disease; all donation directly support programs dedicated to helping to improve health in our communities. We also support the National Breast Health Initiative by working with Susan G. Komen and the Race and the Cure in support of fundraising to assist with payments for medications, Mammograms and community education.
